Im selling a set of winters tires off the Miata on Craigslist. After getting a certified check in the mail, the bank told me it was an absolute no fucking go. The scammers tried to take my monies without me knowing! But their plot was foiled. Or perhaps it was THE LIBYANS!!!

Heres a good tip for any future craigslist transactions. If someone wants to buy whatever you're selling (especially if they want to pay more than asking price) without seeing it in person first it's a scam.

This. Or if they refuse to pay cash for something under $10k or so. Personally, for something that valuable, on craigslist, we're going to your bank together and your not getting what I'm selling until the money has cleared my bank. Used tires are cheap enough they should be cash only, or trade for something else you may want like a laptop.

Hello sir I saw your item on craigslist and would like to purchase it immediately. My shipping agent will come by after payment to arrange shipment of the item. Please reply with your bank account routing number and account number so I can wire the payment immediately.

as a 14 time Nigerian lottery winner I can tell you this, promises of money are just as good as money in Nigeria. It's an enchanted land built on trust and honesty. Would this man lie? I honestly believe thought he was having butter.
